The Royal Hotel is a truly independant free house offering a superb selection of real ales. We try to keep a mild on permanently, and either a Stout or a Porter. However we have found that (contrary to popular opinion) Mild has made a comeback, and Porters and stouts are becoming poplular again. We also have alcohol free Sarsaparilla on draught.
We are (and have been for many years) passionate about the variety and heritage of the craft of real ale. This is why you will rarely find the usual 'Large Brewery' beers such as Thwaites, Moorhouses, etc., we serve a large variety of beers from the smaller and newer microbreweries around the UK who produce an amazing range of superbly crafted beers. We believe that in supporting the smaller breweries we are helping to ensure the future of the unique English Pub and English Ale.
	However, for some people, real ale is just not their thing, so we have a wide range of draught beers (Fosters, Carling, Kronenbourg 1664, Erdinger, Kronenbourg Blanc, Becks 5.0%, Becks Vier, John Smiths Smooth, Hydes Black, Chestnut Mild, Strongbow, Artois Bock, Peetermans, Timmermans Kreik and Guinness). If this isn't enough, we have an extensive range of bottled English and continental Beers and Lagers.
For the drivers we have the excellent range of Fentimans soft Drinks, Real Sarsaparilla on Draught, and the usual range of J2O's and pops.
